4 days to Azzaden valley & Tizgui valley

Your adventure begins with a morning transfer from bustling Marrakech to Agrsiwal (approx. 1,600 meters). A small village nestled on the edge of the Toubkal National Park. Here, you’ll meet your local mountain guide, muleteers, and the sure-footed mules that will carry your gear throughout the trek.
From Agrsiwal, the trail climbs gradually toward the Tizi Oudit Pass (around 2,200 meters). Offering panoramic views over the Ouirgane Valley and the surrounding hills dotted with olive trees and junipers.

Azzaden Valley

This section introduces you to the stark contrast between the dry lower slopes and the greener valleys to come.
After a picnic lunch on the trail. You’ll descend into the verdant Azzaden Valley, known for its traditional terraced farming, red-earth villages, and friendly Berber families. Spend the evening in a local guesthouse in one of the valley’s picturesque villages, where you’ll enjoy a homemade dinner and peaceful mountain ambiance.

Today’s route takes you deeper into the heart of the Azzaden Valley, often referred to as the “Green Valley” for its abundant vegetation, spring-fed irrigation systems, and fertile terraces.
You’ll hike through a chain of small Berber hamlets like Id Aissa, Tiziane, and finally Tizgui, all nestled amidst walnut groves, cherry orchards, and forested hills of oak and juniper. The trail gently undulates, offering a balance of shaded forest paths and open mountain views.

Tizgui village

This stretch is ideal for cultural encounters. You may pass farmers tending their fields or children walking to school. The trail also reveals beautifully preserved stone houses with flat roofs and age-old water channels.
Arrive at Tizgui, a charming village with a timeless atmosphere. Here you’ll spend the night in a family-run guesthouse, where the warm hospitality is matched only by the hearty Berber cuisine.

Fuel up with a traditional Berber breakfast before tackling one of the more challenging yet rewarding days of the trek. You’ll gradually ascend toward the high Tizi n’Tagdalte Pass (approx. 2,700 meters), a windswept ridge with incredible panoramic views across the Toubkal Massif and all the way to the plains of Marrakech on a clear day.
This portion of the trek offers a sense of true wilderness, with little sign of modern life as you traverse alpine terrain dotted with wild thyme, mountain grass, and occasional grazing flocks.

Tizi Oussem village

After reaching the pass and enjoying a well-earned break, begin your descent into the Tizi Oussem Valley, following a rocky path that winds through dramatic highland scenery. The village of Tizi Oussem (1,800 meters) awaits below, surrounded by red rock formations and green terraces.
Spend the night in a welcoming guesthouse where you'll be treated to mint tea, couscous, and stories of mountain life.

On your final trekking day. You’ll climb up to the scenic Tizi Mezik Pass (2,490 meters), a steep but manageable ascent offering fantastic views of the Imlil Valley on the other side.
Before reaching the pass, take a short detour to visit one of the largest waterfalls in the region. A hidden gem where the sound of rushing water and birdsong echo through a shaded gorge.

From the pass, descend gradually through pine forests and cultivated terraces into the well-known mountain village of Imlil (1,740 meters). A popular hub for trekkers heading to Mount Toubkal.
After a short rest and lunch in Imlil, your private transport will be waiting to take you back to Marrakech - bringing an end to four unforgettable days of hiking, discovery, and connection with Morocco’s High Atlas Mountains.
