5 days Mount Toubkal trek

You’ll begin with a scenic drive from Marrakech to the mountain village of Imlil (1,740 m).

Tamsoult Valley

From there, your trek kicks off with a hike over the Tizi Mzik Pass (2,450 m) and into the tranquil Tamsoult Valley (2,250 m). Along the way, you’ll pass juniper forests and panoramic ridgelines. The night is spent in a remote Berber refuge or tented camp.

After breakfast, continue the trek with a visit to the Ighouliden Waterfalls, then start a demanding ascent over the Aguelzim Mountain Pass (3,560 m).

Toubkal Refuge

You'll be treated to sweeping views before descending to the Toubkal Refuge (3,207 m). This is a long and challenging day (7–8 hours of trekking), but crucial for acclimatization. Overnight at the refuge.

This is a built-in rest day to help your body adjust to the altitude. You can relax at the refuge or take a short acclimatization hike on nearby ridges with your guide. This lighter day will increase your summit chances and reduce the risk of altitude sickness. Meals and overnight stay at the refuge.

You'll rise early - around 4:00 AM - for the summit push. After a 3–4 hour climb, you’ll reach the top of Mount Toubkal (4,167 m) just in time to witness the sunrise over the Atlas Mountains. After celebrating the achievement and taking in the breathtaking views, you’ll return to the refuge for lunch and rest. Overnight at the refuge.

After breakfast, descend from the refuge back through the Mizane Valley to Imlil, passing the Sidi Chamharouch shrine en route. The hike takes around 4–5 hours. Upon arrival in Imlil, your driver will take you back to Marrakech, where you’ll arrive in the late afternoon.
